This is my card for The Double Dare Challenge some SCS friends do each week. This week Joan (Joan Ervin) issued the challenge to make a soft, beautiful, elegant wedding card.
My card started out as filling 2 challenges - the Double Dare and the Color challenge - but after I was almost completely done - I realized I used Going Grey instead of Basic Grey !!!(*#&% is what I said !) and then made another card for the color challenge!
I cut the opening with my square nestability then cut a scalloped square slightly larger out of Guava and cut out the middle with the regular square I used on the card.
I stamped the cake on a white panel attached inside the card and then on a Blush Blossom piece and again on a Groovy Guava piece. I cut the blush blossom cake out and layered it on the white panel. Then I cut each layer of frosting out of the Guava and layered that on top of the blush layer. This is the paper tole technique that we used in a recent challenge.
I stamped the sentiment, two hearts one love, around the frame with versamark ink - so it's a watermark rather than a color.
Inside the card underneath 'perfect match' I stamped 'forever + ever+ever+ever+ever (Hampton Arts).
This was a very opportune challenge as we're going to a wedding over Memorial Day weekend and I needed a card for it!
Thanks Joan for the fun challenge!

Wow oh Wow Julia! I love the layering of your paper tole technique!! Great art work!! Your color combo is wonderful, so creative, this card is gorgeous!! I love the attention to detail that you gave it when you put the shadow in behind the cake and the stand. Perfection!! I have to case this, I am totally impressed!!
