While I don't look forward to Monday's because I have to go to work, I do look forward to them in order to see what creative cards/projects my CCEE friends have come up with for our weekly Monday challenges. This week we got off easy. We only had to use two buckles on our card. I thought my SU hp hardware ribbon slides look close enough to buckles, but I never know if I'm going to get the ol' buzzer of disapproval from Mothermark since she often sets forth the challenge rules, and we never know if there's going to be something we missed on our cards because of her last minute additions. For those of you who don't know Mothermark, I don't want you to have the wrong impression. She is quite the prankster and these challenges are all done with good humor and much teasing of one another.
For my card, I chose this cool log cabin stamp that will be released in May by H&M Stamps. What's really cool, is that the sign, Dad's Cabin, is a separate stamp so you can choose to use it or not on the cabin.
After stamping the cabin, I masked it and stamped the trees from Lovely As A tree. Everything was watercolored, except for the sponging of the clouds. I watercolored the grass and path to the cabin and then used one of the stamps from Itty Bitty bgs for some texture of dirt and grass. I also used my SU markers to draw in some sprigs of grass. I distressed the edges and used two different colors of SU's grossgrain ribbon through the buckles.

Hi Charlene! What a cute and rustic card! And a lot of details went into this...your watercoloring and stamping is great! I'm thinking though, those clouds look strangely familiar...is that a "Cindy Cloud Template"??? LOL
You see, I pm'd her about her clouds and she sent me her link to making her cloud template, and I can't wait to use the one I made. Anyhoo...love your card and love that that stamp has the option of stamping the sign over the door or not. That's really cool!

Charlene I love this stamp, and love what you did with it, I see we both used sliders, hope we aren't in to much trouble, if we are we just need to stick together.

Well, can't see any reason to sound the buzzer....I think your ribbon sliders look like buckles and I already gave Cindy approval of hers so I guess I just have to deal with my depression at not being able to hear that wonderful buzzing sound! But, at least I have the future to look forward too cuz you know you guys never follow the rules! Snort!
Your card is amazing. Your coloring is amazing. I love the background papers your chose and you are really quite the distressor and depressor (since I am depressed now at no buzzer!)
