explosion card template

Several of you told me how to make a template... thanks! Here's one for the explosion card, and below what to do with it!

Start with a square, any size you wish. For easy math on where to score I would suggest making its dimensions easily divisible by 4. Score for #1.
Fold the page in half side to side.

Turn the page over and fold the diaganals, one then the other. Push in at the center and the paper should fold up into a triangle, and look like #2.

For the final bit of folding you need to push the corner of each triangle inside itself. The points will meet at the center of the base of the triangle, making the shape of a little house (#3).

For the outside cover of the card, cut a piece of cardstock to the length of your inside piece plus 1/2. The length of that will be half of that number. For example if my inside piece was a 6" square, my cover would be 6.5" X 3.25". All you have to do to it is fold it in half. To attach the inside to the outside run adhesive along the "foundation" of the house on both sides of the folded inside piece. Do not put ahesive all over or you will have trouble opening the card when complete. Then move the center point of the inside into the cover of the card. You'll get a nicer final result if you keep both pieces folded as much as possible.
Finally I would suggest completing the card with a ribbon or some other closure. There will be qute a bit of bulk inside the card and it will help to have something to keep it contained until it is opened.
Hope this works for you!
