I am so proud of my husband and son that I just had to do this for ME.
I made this completely from scratch.
First, I made the 'covers' by covering cardboard (4 1/2" x 6 1/2" each) with patterned scrapbook paper. Paper is easier to use than cardstock because it's more pliable and foldable to miter the corners.
I then took two sheets of cardstock and cut two (2) 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" pieces. I used the 1/2" to join the two pieces lengthwise. I scored every 4 1/2" to create the accordian effect.
I ran the backsides of the covered boards through my Xyron and applied them to the outsides of the folded up folder album to create a 'sandwich'. Patterned Paper outers with cardstock inners.
I printed all of my photos in Sepia for an antique look.
The photo to the far left was mounted on a handmade ticket that peeks out of the pocket (is removable).
I used antique brass circle and star brads as well as some antique gold snap buttons found at the CK Convention.
The two middle pockets also have removable tickets with photos mounted on them as well (sorry they're hidden - forgot to pull them out for better view). The two outside pockets were simply 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" pieces of themed paper and folded down on one corner to create the pocket.
I only used STRONG adhesive on the very edges of each pocket so the removable tickets can be removed or placed back in easily.
The stickers were found on a military themed sticker sheet I found somewhere (I really should log this stuff, huh?)
This is a wonderful project to make Grandmothers as I did for the Soldier's for Christmas one year. They absolutely LOVED them.
