This was a fun card to make. I was inspired by a card by Sonia S., a local Demo. Each candle-body is a scrap of designer paper, each one different. Each flame is from Pick a Petal, stamped in So Saffron, wick drawn in black pen, and base of flame stamped from Bud Basics in More Mustard. Arranged candle colors somewhat in "color wheel" sequence, 5 candles to a section X 10 sections = 50 candles. "Chocolate" cake was masked the length of the CS and brayered in Bravo Burgundy. Small slot punch (rectangular) was used to punch a hole at folds to thread the twill tape through. The curvy Happy Birthday was stamped in Bravo Burgundy. The color scheme of the color came from the color wheel: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, So Saffron. Black craft ink and black EP "You Did What?". Flannel plaid stamped Mellow Moss CS in Old Olive ink. Distressed edges, added 3 brads.
Edited 8/23/10 to link to 'how to' instructions. http://www.mixed-up.com/mary/
and under Rubber Stamping, in the blue box, click on "Instructions for the 50-candle card".
Edited 1/3/11 to add CS dimensions. Each CS piece is a half-sheet (8" x 5 1/2", folded in half to be 4" x 5 1/2").
... I'm hoping to find time to create another one of these to celebrate my husband's aunt's upcoming 100th BD in June 2011.

You've done a lovely job on this. Each candle is beautifully unique - like each year of our lives really. It's funny and elegant at the same time - and lots and lots of room on the back for everyone to sign!
