Sharon's challenge this week is all about purses. Check it out! notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
This purse was actually done in July of 2006...this was the very first paper crafting I did. I didn't want to do it because I just knew I would fall hard for the ART. I made this for my childhood friend whom I reconnected with at a high school reunion earlier that year. I had won a $100 gift certificate in the evenings' raffle and being from out of town, wasn't going to be able to use it...so a girl needs a proper purse for the essentials, doesn't she?
I used the DejaViews Flirty Purse template. My paper is double sided Cosmo Cricket "Wanted" Kissin' Kate, which is works out wonderfully for the inside. I used floral wire for the handle and picot edged aqua ribbon tied jauntily tied 'round the top. I couldn't resist the garter for a closing...when we girls were in school, garters held up nylons...I stained it with Tim Holtz tea dye used a chenille string to wing around the vintage button (grandmothers' button box).
I will post the insides to an album this weekend for anyone interested in what's in the purse!!! Thanks for inspiring us daily, Sharon...

Fun, fun , fun!!! I remember when my grandma wore garters to hold up her stockings..sort of... if my mom wore garters, she never told me!!
Fabulous purse and to think it is the first thing you ever made!! Fabulous!!!! As Julia says above - I just love your so out there creations that still fit just fine into the challenges!! You really are an artist!!! I confess that I loathed art, pencil crayons etc etc by grade 1. I tease my family that I am like Grandma Moses - discovered that I like making cards ( my kinda art ) in my dottage!! LOL!!! Now I love my pencil crayons! Who knew???
