Sympathy cards are difficult for me as much as I love the written word, I am always at a loss for 'Just the RIGHT one'. And with the last few I have made, I found myself wishing I had not even written on the inside. So this card is different, there is no inside! And the back is a beautiful stripe!!!
My base is a MME signature life,Her Cute Little Cowgirl country stripes/antique rose. Being double sided, it was easy to work both into my design. I stamped a Fancy Pants swirl (Alpha Chic) inked in Adirondack terra cotta on the base. My sentiment is a RiverCity Rubber works stamped in Tim Holtz distress walnut stain and embossed in clear ep. I filed and sawed the edges of both layers attaching them with a MM heart clip. The lovely tile middle layer is an unknown piece of scrapbook paper which I have carried to 4 citites now trying to find who made it as there is no name anywhere on the paper. I did scan this into my computer and print on SU blush blossom as I could not bear to use this up. If anyone recognizes this paper, I would be so thankful. This is only a small portion of the original paper...I used other tiles in a case of Joan Ervin on Jan 20 '08...check it out for the tiles...inchie cherubs...
This I think will meet Beates' and Sharons' challenge this weekend. Thank you so much for looking...

So delicate and pretty.. you truly make the most wonderful and fascinating card, Susan!!! Like you, I am at a loss as what to do about sympathy cards. so much depends on the situation.. I usually end up purchasing mine ( shhhh! ). This is really lovely.
I agree with you in wondering just what to use as words.. can words ever express the grief one feels at losing a loved one???

I think most of us have trouble with sympathy cards, but you've done a beautiful job with this one, Susan! It's soft and soothing and simply lovely! The image and the distressing is so pretty, and will bring comfort, for sure! TFS!

That sure is a pretty card...and I like the idea of no inside to write in - I never know what to put in there anyway, and your verse on the card really does say it all. Added to my favorites!
