A business friend's son was killed in Iraq yesterday.
My boss asked me if I could make a card that wasn't flowery but making a statement about how we feel. I thought this was a very appropriate card for Mark and his family.
I used white cardstock covered with sand textured wall paper on front and back of card. I used night of navy for the layer under the soldier. The flag is done in real red, night of navy, and the stars are covered with white gel pen. The soldier's face is done in creamy caramel, as well as the gargles and chin strap. The camo is done in certainly celery, and another layer of certainly celery for added depth, and green gable. The eye and hair are done with basic black finepoint end of marker. The glass on the gargles is crystal affects, the strings on the flag are done with gunmetal stickles. I took bashful blue and sponged on the card to soften the look of the background.
Thank you for checking out this card.
