Thanks for all the nice compliments! I took a piece of Not Quite Navy cardstock and then sponged Craft White ink onto it by dragging the inked up sponge across the cardstock. For the faux wood look, you tend to drag straight across, for the faux water look I waved my lines a bit so it would look more realistic. Next, I inked up a sponge with Going Gray Classic Ink and dragged that across in wavy streaks as well. The Going Gray toned down the whiteness a bit and still looked watery. Other blues might work as well. Allow to dry and stamp or mat.
The Brads actually got added because I've found that for some reason the Monoadhesive doesn't stick well to the surface of the cardstock after doing this technique. Don't know why! For most of my Faux Wood cards, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to mount the focal pieces. But, I'm running short on Dimensionals until Mr. Brown arrives, so I used Brads on this card instead.
just wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to attempt to copy it - I am not sure it will look as good as yours - but I am going to give it a try!
