My background was made on Very Vanilla cardstock by first thoroughly inking up wadded toilet paper with a CTMH vanilla ink, then firmly pressing the TP onto the cardstock, repeating until the cardstock was covered with a mottled appearance (TP technique). Next, I brayered the En Francais background with Creamy Caramel, turned it face up on my table, and laid the TP'd background on it. I pressed my fingertips in just a few spots to give a random, worn look to the script. The Carte Postale images were then added in Creamy Caramel. The lilacs were added using the Poppin' Pastels method (instructions can be found by searching the Resources page). Two step stamping works very nicely with Poppin' Pastels and gives good coverage over a background like this. I shaded around the lilacs with Creamy Caramel chalk, then edged the piece with direct-to-paper Chocolate Chip (scrape the pad directly onto the edges of the cardstock). Finally, I sprayed with matte sealer and added ribbon and brads.
