This card was inspired by today's sketch and some scrapbook leftovers.
The green Mother-of-pearl circles were just the *perfect* color to go on this card. Wanna guess where I got those?
They're from a pair of earrings I bought on sale for our office Christmas party, were the theme was "The Sultan's Ball". The earrings were pretty, but way too big to wear outside of a costume party, so what I did was use my pliers to take off the extra rows on them and keep only four circles on each ear, and now they're wearable. So I wound up with all of those extra circles and figured I could use them on my Christmas party scrapbook pages to match my costume. ;) They were lying on my work table, that's why I thought about using them on my card.
The polka dot ribbon was bought at Wal-Mart yesterday.
The rub-ons are from Autumn Leaves and they were probably the most time-consuming part of the project! They are so hard to rub off the paper, it's crazy! The corner flourish was too big for my card, so I cut the part I wanted to keep and put the rest inside the card, to match (as you can see in the picture).
I dry embossed a row of small circles at the bottom of the card, and also embossed a border inside the card.
Finally, I used my glue pen to add glitter around the petals, and used the watercolor-and-embossing resist technique to do the middle of the flower, and finished it off with a clear pebble.
Hope you like it! (If you wanna see more projects made with these papers, check out my gallery - I used them during the last VSN.)
