JulieHRR accidentally, er..inadvertently, er..Oh heck I was stalking her and she happened to mention this lovely new technique called Burnished Velvet, so I had to find it, I mean after all, if she likes it then it must be cool right?
I finally found the technique on the Scor-Pal site (check them out they're on the home page;)
When I saw the Fan Club challenge to use velvet on your project I knew I wanted to do the Burnished Velvet technique I just wasn't sure "how" I wanted to do it!
It finally came to me in the middle of the night, I would use sticker paper on both sides of a piece of scrap c/s, then run it through my Cuttlebug with the Asterisks die! I took one side of the sticker paper off and adhered it to my card, then I removed the upper side of the sticker paper, poured this lovely teal glitter from my secret Elf onto it and "burnished" it into the stickiness!
To finish it, I simply stamped the word "sparkle" onto the white band and added some of the teal sparkle shapes that came with the glitter and ta-da!
ONE VERY SPARKLY CARD!!!!
TFL!!! I couldn't get a decent photo or scan of this it's sooooooo sparkly!
