This is the first "after" picture of the old wood futon frame we re-purposed.
Edited to add: A bit of directions on how to: First you take the futon frame (ff) apart. Using the ff seat section and the ff back section. Cut the two sections in half evenly. You will end up with 4 main sections, 2 shorter pieces and 2 slightly longer pieces. If you look at the full picture you will see the difference. Then we purchased approx (+-)12-1x2s [you will end up with 24 shelves 6 ea. 4 sections] at Home Dept and cut them to length inside width for the shelves. The (back) wood slats on the shelves is the original futon, the shelves(front) the stamps sit on are the 1x2s. We used the ff arms for spare matching wood for end pieces of the 4 main sections. Thanks for all of your nice comments I do have to say myself that I felt really good reusing perfectly good wood to make something so fabulous. I like having my stuff out so I can see it. These suit the bill. Also, with the state our planet is in we ALL need to open our eyes to reusing reusing reusing. It's so fun I don't know why we don't do it more often.

Lucky you!! I really like the double layer shelves. They remind me of some spice racks you can get. I am jealous. How nice to have everything off the floor, too, and not need storage units. Enjoy!!

I've had a couple requests for Tutorial. I edited my description to add this but it doesn't show up? I must be doing something wrong. So here it is...
