Fold your cardstock to make a regular card size. Fold up the front part halfway. Use the 1" piece after you've inked it as described below and glue it to the front flap. Attach the leaf square on the leather strip. You open the card by this piece as it is folded back on itself. This seems confusing to explain, but it is really very easy and simple. The hardest part is continuing to ink the strip until you get it to looking like a piece of leather.
Take a 1" wide piece of white cardstock and wadded it up. Straightened it out again, then take different green and brown inks and wipe it all over the strip being sure to completely cover it. This will make it look almost like a leather piece. (This is much prettier in person than it is here.) After cutting this strip to the size of the base card, I cut small strips to put at an angle on the corners of the inside of the card.
