This is my stab at the January Dirty Dozen Sketch. (If you're not a Fan Club member, you're really missing out!) Stars are really popular right now, so I decided to make a card for my son who's earning really good grades in school.
The dp with the stars is from Crate Paper. The striped paper and wavy orange band are also by Crate Paper, but they're Crate Bands. They're perforated, so you just pull them apart and adhere. Cool, huh?!
To make my large scallop ring, I first used my Mega Circle Punch on Close to Cocoa cs and then punched the Giga Scallop Circle over the Mega circle. Make sense?
I stamped the cupcake and sentiment onto Whisper White with Timber Brown StazOn and colored the cupcake with SU! markers. The white was too stark and bright, so I dirtied it up with my Spritzer and markers. I highlighted the chocolate chips on the cupcake frosting with Cinnamon Stickles. When everything was dry, I punched it out with my 1 3/8" circle punch and layered it on a brass circle tag with a Dimensional.
I started to use three buttons on the card, but quickly remembered the bag of wooden stars I picked up at Michael's around the holidays. I painted each star with Antique White Acrylic Paint and (when dry) outlined each one with my Stampin' Up markers by adding polka dots to them.
I think it's a fun card and can't wait to give it to my son when we get his next report card. TFL - Regina
