Here is my card for today's color challenge- to use real red, soft sky, and blue bayou. I really like Emily's idea to use these colors for a Valentine, especially for a guy. It is so hard to make a card that isn't too frilly, but still a great Valentine!
I decided I would make my husband's Valentine today and, of course, I had to use my Dr. Feelgood set! This set was designed by Carolyn King for Gina K. Designs.
The large bg panel is soft sky and is matted with real red and blue bayou. I stamped the linen bg on the soft sky cs in soft sky ink. I stamped the sentiment in real red over the linen bg. I used a punch I got out of the Mike's $1 bin to make the small real red hearts. The are up on mini pop dots. I felt like there was an empty space on the left side of the card, so I tied and knotted a piece of real red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the soft sky panel. The horizontal panel is blue bayou and is matted with real red. I stamped the solid heart from Dr. Feelgood in blue bayou and I stamped the "hugs" and "kisses" sentiments in real red. Dr. Feelgood is stamped on whisper white cs with black stazon. He is matted with real red cs. I colored him in with prismacolor pencils, mineral spirits, and blending stumps. I then sponged around the edges of the whisper white with real red ink.
I think my DH will like this. He laughed when I ordered this set, and he has a good sense of humor! Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
