Well, I've been behind on challenges, so I thought I would try combining a couple. This card is for MFT's 12th sketch challenge and CC148. I only have one sympathy card in my supply, so I thought this layout and the colors would be perfect for this type of card.
I used blue bayou as the mat for the base panel, image panel, and vertical strip. I used wild wasabi for the base panel and stamped the Weathered bg on it in wild wasabi ink. For the vertical strip, I used barely banana. I used my sewing machine and stitched the banana to the bayou mat. I then stamped a small flourish from MFT's Boho Blossoms on the barely banana (after stamping it off once on some scratch paper). For the main image, I stamped the flower (from MFT's Boho Blossoms) on the whisper cs and on a seperate piece of barely banana cs. I then stamped the flourish, from Boho Blossoms, in wild wasabi on the whisper white cs. I cut out the flower stamped on the barely banana and used mini pop dots to adhere it over the image stamped on the whisper white cs. I stamped the tiny flower from Boho Blossoms in the top corners of the whisper white panel with barely banana ink. I used my ticket corner punch on the corners of the image panel and mat. I stamped the sympathy sentiment, from MFT's Essential Sentiments, in blue bayou on the wild wasabi panel. I used a ribbon buckle (???) from my new Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware to attach the strip the blue bayou double stitched ribbon across the bottom.
This was a fun sketch to work with and I was really pleased with the color combo. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
