I made Epiphany cards in lieu of Christmas cards this year, and enclosed a King Cake recipe in them.....here's a picture of a card alongside a cake and a gorgeous gold-gilded crown I got at Hobby Lobby.

I LOVE your Epiphany Celebration! I have never heard of *Kings Cake*!! What a lovely tribute to the Epiphany!!
YEAH for Little Christmas!! So many people don't realize that the Kings didn't arrive ON Jesus's birthday!! They arrived 2 years later altho we celebrate it on Jan 6th!!

Oh my goodness, I sure miss those Kings cakes at Mardi Gras. My husband and I lived in New Orleans from 1983 to 1987 while he was in his residency. Every Friday someone at work brought in a King cake and whoever got the baby had to bring in the King cake the following Friday. Such a fun tradition, thanks for the memories, I just love this project.

I love this, too. Very festive and fun.
But, I thought the kings arrived when Jesus was 12. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Could be!
Although I did know they were not there at his birth. In some churches, they set up the nativity without the baby Jesus. On Christmas, He goes into the manger crib, and on Epiphany, the Kings are placed in the display. I think that's a nice way to do it.

Neat idea. Neat card. I'll have to remember this for next year, when I am feeling swamped with getting my Christmas cards finished. I was hoping someone would ask for the recipe because the cake does look yummy.
