I wasn't really impressed with my first attempt. I do realize I should have torn the pieces of tape instead of cutting them. The computer made the blue on the tape look purple, but it is blue. Needs some pointers, just not happy with outcome. Please help!!

Not bad. I would suggest putting the ink on a sponge and rubbing the sponge across the tape. It might come out more antique. Also, maybe distressing the flower to make it look more antique. Not a bad one though for your first attempt. I do agree that tearing the tape makes a big difference. Don't give up, it will be worth it! Thanks for sharing.

Great for a first attempt! I agree about tearing the tape, and maybe more ink on the tape? To me it looks too light in color for the leather look. I appreciate your having the courage to post and ask questions - makes me want to put some of my other ones on here too!!!!

Your color combination is very pretty. Yes, you really do have to tear the tape to make this technique work. But, hey, you learned a lesson without great pain, right? Now try it with torn tape, and you will love it!
