This layout sat on my desk for almost a month. I had chosen the patterned papers, cut the circles, cut the pictures... and then, I was stuck. The layout seemed so bare and I didn't know where to go from there.
I let it rest, thinking inspiration would come. Boy, was it on Holidays already because it took a whole month before it came back! I decided to ink the edges to add dimension and right then and there, the layout already started to be a little more appealing.
Then I thought I'd fill in the background with a wheel and I chose Hot to Dot as a last hommage to it before it retires (wheeled in white).
I then decided the corners were a little bare and that you can never go wrong with ribbon. Then it just appeared natural to add a litle something where ribbon crossed, so I added some washers with a brad in the middle. Things were already looking up.
The title was done with letter stickers and the inspiration was definitely the Alphabet Soup sentiments from SU! It took a bit of fidgeting, but I really like how it turned out.
I wanted to add the date in the middle, but the alphabet I was using didn't include any numbers! So I decided to write "Disney's" instead. It still seemed bare, so I added a circle, then matted it, then thought of my scalloped punch - way better! I filled in the middle with a fancy snap.
Then I embellished the circles a little bit: I added Prima flowers around one of them, with rhinestone stickers in the middle, and used the grid pattern on another as a guide to add Stickles. Did that make all the difference in the world! I never get tired to adding sparkle to my projects.
Finally, my Speed Pass ticket with a stamper corner (from Yuletide Montage - which is actually a leftover scrap from yesterday's card that was on my desk) on the bottom.
Ta-da!
