A co-worker ordered five altered 4x6 frames from me. They're going to be Christmas gifts to family with her favorite photos. One down...four to go.
The $1 frame came from Michael's. I painted it with Antique White Acrylic Paint and a sponge brush. Once dry, I traced the frame onto the opposite side of the dp, cut it out and adhered the paper to the frame with Mod Podge with a sponge brush. Once dry, I sanded the edges with a sanding block and coated the frame with a layer of Mod Podge to seal it and give it a finished look.
I wanted to highlight parts of the dp, so I grabbed my Paper Glaze and applied some to the swirls and centers of the flowers. While it was still wet, I sprinkled clear microbeads to the paper glaze. It's such a neat look, although I don't know if you can see it in the picture real well. (Bummer!)
The chipboard piece is from BasicGrey's Infuse Collection, but it works so well with this Mellow Collection, too. I traced it onto Repose dp, cut it out and adhered it to the chipboard with Mod Podge. Once dry, I sanded the edges, inked the edges with Old Olive ink, added a bit of Ruby Red grosgrain ribbon, peeled the backing off and stuck it to the frame.
(Yes, this will actually hold a photo, but I can't stand to see an empty picture frame, so I stamped one of the leafy stamps from Stem Silhouettes onto Very Vanilla cs with Old Olive ink and a sun from the Little Shapes set with Apricot Appeal.)
My co-worker really liked it, and I hope you do, too. I'd love to hear what you think. TFL - Regina

It looks fabulous!! What a great gift!! This is something I'll have to look into trying! Love the dimension that the chipboard gives it!! Beautiful work!
