I found this adorable wreath in Creating Keepsakes latest issue. WOW! When I first read the article it freaked me out because it said to cut 400 pieces of 6"x1" cardstock. I first thought this will take me forever.
But if it's cute, it's worth the time and effort!
So I started out with a 10" or 12" wreath. I bought Basic Grey's new Figgy Pudding collection of papers. I did not use the full 400 strips. I ended cutting up 9 pieces of paper which is 216 loops and I had some left over so maybe it depends on the thickness/stiffness of the papers you're using to determine how many strips you'll need.
Then once all your papers are cut, staple the ends together (staple them together flat). Then hot glue the stapled parts of your loops onto the wreath overlapping about 1/2" so you cover the entire wreath. Don't try to be too perfect when lining up your loops on your wreath... because that's what I did and I soon learned that it didn't look right, so I started placing them not so perfect and filled in the empty spaces after I got a good look at what I had previously glued in place. Then I pinned ribbon to the back of the wreath to hang. The article also said you could use this as a centerpiece for sweet treats or whatever... great idea.
Well, hope that made sense. Thanks for looking!
