This was inspired by my great grandmother. She was an artist and taught me to paint when I was a child and inspired all things artistic in me. I owe a big debt to you, Mimi, and I miss you.
I watercolored a desert background onto watercolor paper. When it dried, I stamped and embossed the desert scene and added some detail colors. I stamped some cactus on the terracotta c/s and used a border punch, then matted it on dk purple c/s. With watercolors, I found a scan works much better than pic; it keeps the colors truer. TFL

WOW!!! I LOVE how you painted the background first, then stamped the image. This is sooooo beautiful. I miss my grandma too.
