Every week the Prettie Girls from Paper Pretties Design Team are presented with a challenge. (www.paperpretties.net) Sometimes it's a sketch challenge, sometimes a color challenge... and then we mail our projects out to one of the other girls. It's fun to see what everyone comes up with - and to get something fun in the mail each week! It was my turn to host a challenge, so I sent everyone in the group a frame from Target's Dollar Spot.
This is the frame I made for Jillian Winters. I always am on her blog and have seen these awesome pictures of her and her husband in Maui... so I thought I would try to go with an exotic theme. I've never altered a frame before, but I thought it was a lot of fun. (Well... I have to say, some of the other girls wanted to kill me and through these frames out the window because the painted surfaces are hard to deal with.... but other than that, I think it went over ok) LOL!
I got these fun metal embellishments from my friend Dana (Kismet Art & Life) and was so excited when the sentiment fit inside a piece of my Hodgepodge Hardware! The blue paper is by My Mind's Eye (Bohemia collection) and the brown patterned paper is by Creative Imaginations.

I guess I am off to Target to see if they have more in the dollar spot! What an awesome gift
