When I saw this sketch, I realized that it'd be a perfect showcase for a BasicGrey Die Shape. In my mind, it's a Christmas card with non-traditional colors. Why not, right?
Anyway, I punched out the Die Shape, traced it onto some thin cardboard, cut out the shape and then glued the two together. I used a green Gelly Roll Stardust Pen and Stickles to highlight parts of the flower. The flower is mounted to the card with a double layer of Dimensionals. Those fibers are a bit bulky, and I wanted my flower to sit comfortably over them.
The main panel is Concentrate (from the BasicGrey Infuse 6x6 package) layered on Whisper White and Ruby Red cs. The card base is Chocolate Chip cs. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White with Ruby Red Classic Ink, spritzed with Old Olive and Creamy Caramel (to dirty it up a bit) and layered on Chocolate Chip and Ruby Red cs. I notched the corners with my 1/2" Circle Punch. (Just flip the punch over and line up the cs in the X.) I wanted to dress up the corners a bit, so I dug out some eyelets and set them with my Crop-A-Dile. The fibers are also by BasicGrey.
So, do you think it'll pass for a Christmas card? TFL - Regina
