Earlier today I posted this without any additional embellishments (just bare-bones stamp-emboss-mask-&-sponge). I wanted to try notching it up a 'wee-bit' while keeping the limit of 1-layer. The 'wee-bit' more:
a) Card front is scored 1/2" from left edge.
b) Stamped image is horizontally centered on remaining 5" width of card front (as opposed to centering on full 5 1/2" width).
c) Added grosgrain ribbon & cord to left margin.
Additional comment: The first 'simple 1-layer' card was sponged with a finger dauber Simple One-Layer Christmas Card by rdm at Splitcoaststampers . This next-generation's sponging used a segment of a Stampin' Sponge... Im beginning to prefer results obtained with Stampin' Sponges (easier to get an even coverage and smoother 'transition').
