The other day, my nephew (almost 3 years old) was being a bit rough with his baby sister (almost one), making her cry out in distress/annoyance. His mom (my sister) kept admonishing him to be gentle, to no avail. Then, she told him that she was like a delicate flower that could easily break. She said it off hand, not thinking much about it. Well! It really struck him, and he kept repeating it. Now, he will readily tell other folks "My baby sister is like a little flower that can easily break!"
She will then remind him that they must be gentle with their little flower, and he readily agrees.
And then, he will even (at her prompting) "smell" his "little flower!!!" He runs up to her and presses his nose to her and sniffs away!
So this postcard was inspired by that.
And since it will be a postcard, I kept everything flat. The faux hardware is from a set called "Hip Hardware" by TAC (The Angel Company). I drew in shadow lines and thread and screws. I drew the flower pot too.
It is just one layer. The "mat" of brown paper underneath is not attached.

This is adorable (as is your little story!)! I was always looking at this set, but never bought it, much to my regret!

What an awesome card. Your shadows on the hardware look so real! I have that hardware set and having been trying to find a good use for it. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
