I received a gift cert. from Cornish Heritage Farms, so I quickly ordered one of the Thomas Kinkade Foxglove Cottage Vignette. It was soooo scary starting to color that little cottage in!! But I really like how it turned out. Like always, it looks so much better in real life, the picture just kinda washes out all the color details. I used my prismacolor pencils and orderless thinner on the first layer of coloring and then colored details on top without blending them in.. It really added a ton of dimension to the image.
So, if you've been looking at the Thomas Kinkade stamps and were too scared to buy them because of the coloring...don't be, it's a ton of fun!!!
A little note about the rest of the card - the burgandy is stamped with Linen using Versamark, and -- look at that, I actually used a piece of hodgepodge hardware!! It took me a bit to figure out what I like to do with that little hook like piece -- and this works for me. See that ribbon, well it started out as a piece of plain white SU ribbon and I colored it using my Not Quite Navy ink pad and a dauber!! I love when I can find easy short cuts!!
This card is going to be for my SIL who loves Thomas Kinkade. I hope she is pleasantly surprised!! now just to wait until her birthday -- which isn't until March! Well, maybe I'll change it to a Celebrate your new home (which they just moved into last month!) and then I can send it right away!!
