This was a fun card to make for my husband's nephew. I guess you can tell what his nickname is. He and the rest of the family enjoyed playing with it. :o)
The cake layers are made with Close to Cocoa cardstock that I ran through my Big Kick machine using the Fiskar's Filigree texture plate, and then rubbed with the Craft Close to Cocoa ink pad. I punched out three rectangles with the Giga Rectangle Scalloped punch and trimmed them to create the three layers. The middle layer is on a single layer of dimensionals, the bottom layer is on two layers. I used the black glaze pen to fill in the cake stand base of the cake stamp from Blooming with Happiness.
I haven't played with liquid applique in a while - it works great here for the yummy frosting. I also sprinkled it with DD glitter. The candles were colored with glaze pens, but only the flames were glittered while still wet.
The balloons were colored in with glaze pens and sprinkled with DD glitter.

Yummy Linda. Please pass a piece of that cake with lots of frosting. Oh, I see one of those balloons flying over head right now. Al must have released one of them. Well, it does look so realistic! LOL Another fun card by you.

Very neat card Linda, and as always you have the perfect touch with all the embellishments, the Liquide applique, makes great frosting! I'm sure Al got a kick out of it!
