Tim Holtz distress inks and embossing are great for that worn out look. They give a rough look instead of a high gloss. I used Vintage Photo ink embossed with the Vintage Photo ep.

Wow, what a wonderful leatherly look! Awesome card. Great picture too....I am just glad you didn't use what is typically on the bottom of cowboy boots as your prop! LOL!
