I want to thank all of you with unmounting ideas in the forums. I finally broke down and unmounted all of my stamps. After I nuked them for 30 seconds, I pulled both the rubber AND SU sticky mounting foam off of the wood block. I am going to use them this way. If I decide they are still too sticky I will again nuke them, pull off the rubber and mount it on EZ Mount. Until then, I'll just enjoy how nice they ALL fit on my shelves in my small work area! tfs--i get the gist of it now. what is EZ mount? the unmounted stamps naturally cling to the acrylic blocks so they don't have to be sticky? If it works, I'm all for it since my stamps take up so much space. Do you think unmounting your stamps hurts resale value?

I nuked all mine off the wood a couple of years ago, peeled the labels off, stuck them on the gray foam to line up with the designs and threw that wood away. I just use double sticky tape which has been "fuzzed up" on my jeans leg (so it won't be SO sticky it pulls my labels off) and off we go stampin' my brains out. Now with new blocks of wood, I save them all and send them to my little <2 granddaughter in OK who stacks them up and knocks them down while improving her small motor skills and eye/hand coordination! I never regret one day without wood!

EZ Mount is carried by Sunday International http://www.sundayint.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=11 . Sorry, I copied and pasted but it doesn't look like the shortcut will work. Just type in Sunday International in to a search. Once there look for their directions on using EZ MOunt. EZ MOunt replaces SU's foam backing. Looks the same but the side that needs to stick to the acrylic handle and cd case has a special coating. It does not feel sticky at all but yet, miracle of miracles, it "clings" to your handle and case.
I did not peel just my rubber off after nuking. If I had done that I'd have needed EZ Mount or sticky tape to hold them into my cd cases and on the handles. I decided to pull off the whole she-bang. Both rubber and SU mounting foam. That has alot of sticky left on it. From there, they went straight into my cd case. They are easy to store, take up no room, easy to remove from the cd case and add to the acrylic handle, easy to use and easy to clean. The stamping image is just as good also. There is a difference of opinion as to whether the value is reduced by unmounting. I think yes, definately. Others will tell you they have resold them for the same prices as if they were still mounted on the SU wooden block. I'm THRILLED that I took this step and will continue to use all of my stamps unmounted. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to PM me!
