This card was born out of desire to stamp with no direction or inspiration. After I got home from church this afternoon I knew I wanted to make more cards of encouragement for the crew that was heading to Pittsburgh for a mission trip, but didn't know where to start. So here's my story of how this card came to be.
When I 1st started stamping the 1st set of ink pads I got was SU's Soft Subtles. I used Perfect Plum all the time. Really, I mean all the time. Over time I got the rest of the color families and then SU changed some of the colors and started adding In Color. In the midst of all of the new colors I kinda forgot about my dearest Perfect Plum. My intention with this card was to simply use Perfect Plum. And while I was at it, I might as well use Pale Plum and Barely Banana, 2 more colors I've been neglecting.
O.K. I had colors, now I needed stamps. Hmmmm.... Oh, lookie what I found, a SAB set from over a year ago. When was the last time I inked it up? Probably over a year ago.
So I started to play. It was when I had my big plum blossoms on the card stock that I decided to take my marker and outline the images. I had seen it done before, but never did it myself. Well, no time like the present, and if I hate it, no one will ever see it.
Darn, time for supper... 3 hours later I finally got back to my card. In the car on the way home from a Target run I was thinking about how blah my card was so far. That was when I decided to make it into a gate fold card. But I still had not sentiment or focal point, just some outlined purplish flowers.
Went diggin' in my stash o stamps and found "God's Way". Wow, that was dusty. The set retired long ago. And ummmm.... I never inked mine. While I love what each of the stamps says, they are such small font that I have a hard time working them into my designs. Computer to the rescue. I marched on over to the computer, kicked Craig off for 3 minutes and printed off what I wanted the card to say.
More card fiddling and voila... card of encouragement. Hope who ever gets this likes it. And if they don't I'll never know. Besides, I'm not taking credit for it. I'm signing it from the elementary age kiddos.
So that's the story of this card.
