Here's my card for today's LSC124 - to use scraps to make a background. I rooted through my scrap box and found some strips I thought would work well together. I stuck them down on a neutral piece of BasicGrey LilyKate to unify the elements. Then I added a scrap of vellum, the other half of a torn-in-half bit. I thought about what stamp to use, wanted to use one of my new Text Boxed stamps, but I couldn't think how to make them work for this project. I turned to my trusty Stampendous bloom, which I just love to colour in. I stamped it with my new Palette Noir ink pad (black inkpad #4 for me, why stop now!). I painted it with Twinkling H20's in shades of gold and green and pinky-gold. I wanted the flower to be mainly green to complement the pinky-toned background. I used a lot of one of my new colours, Golden Monarch. It's quite similar to River Rock in colour. I love my twinklings!!!!
A wide organdy scrap of ribbon became a "leaf" and the little sentiment from Carte Postale was just perfect for the word window punch. I found the little shiny "jewel" while rooting through my embellies basket and it seemed just right for this one. A few drops of green stickles on the flower to draw the eye in, and I was done. I like this card and will save it for the next time I need a thank you card.
ETA: Oops - I had the wrong challenge in the keyword. Can't win 'em all... sorry about that.
