This is a wedding card that I made for my DH's friend's daughter and soon-to-be hubby. Their colors are black and silver. I recycled the silver paper used to mat the stamped image and the verse inside the card from one of the card inserts of their invitation. The front of the black card is embossed with the Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I used a platinum ink pad to color the embossed image as well as to color the relief area.
The wedding cake was stamped three times and each layer was layered with foam tape. I used Diamond Glaze for the frosting on the top and bottom of each layer. The dots are colored with a silver gel pen.
Originally I had stamped the verse directly on the inside of the card, but the image didn't stamp very well. I ended up stamping the verse with black Colorbox pigment ink onto the black card stock and then used silver embossing powder.
Verse:
"In all you dream and in all you do,
May the love you share bring joy to you...
Happy Wedding Day!"
I bought the paper for the envelope at Michael's. One sheet of crinkly silver stuff. I took apart an Office Max envelope and used that as a pattern for my envelope. I punched two holes in the flap and the back of the envelope and the ribbon is what holds the flap shut. So to open it, they have to untie the bow and pull the ribbon out.
