TLC123 - hey, it rhymes!! I had NO clue what to use as an unexpected element on this card. My dd, Wendybell'sGirl, found a birthday candle leftover from her brother's birthday cake and prompty set out to work. I, on the other hand, took her idea . . . sort of. Since it's almost the 4th of July, I did a birthday card of sorts for America, with firecrackers instead of candles on top!! Just can't send this baby via UPS mail or the FBI will come after me!! The small sparkly stars were punched out of some really great sticker/photo-paper-backed paper I got at a local scrapbook store.
The red and white striped background was from a little trick I learned at regionals - take some scrap strips of paper, cut them to card width and stick 'em down! Way fun and a good way to use scraps!

Thanks, Dawn! I'm getting a little ahead of myself. And btw, they really ARE firecrackers, not candles!! Sorry for confusing you, Rascal! I edited my description so no one else gets mixed messages!
