I needed a card for a co-worker who is retiring this year from teaching. I had this little guy sitting in my "stuff to use" basket (you know, it holds pieces of backgound, technique bits, colored images, punched items, etc. from failed or other projects that I really need to actually use) all ready colored and waiting to be used. I had planned to use him for another project but he just didn't "work".
I decided to make a card for WT118 using this guy. Started with him and then decided to go with the brown paper. Then, I found this great piece of dp and the ribbon (michael's buck-fifty bin) and decided they all went together. When I put the fellow on the top of the card, I realized that I needed something to fill the space -- and he is looking at something, so I went through my growing collection of dollar clear stamps from Michael's and found this butterfly. I colored it pink to go with my mouses' ears, nose and tail but now I wish I'd gone with yellows and orange. Oh well, maybe I'll try it again with those colors. The sentiment is also from a Michael's dollar clear stamp.
I hope my friend likes it!
