So I'm still pretty new at this. I thought I'd enter my first challenge. This is my gate card I'm submitting to Beate's weekend sketch challenge #5.
Couple things going on with this card: Thought I'd show that it is okay to just use "plain" chipboard and that it doesn't have to be covered, painted, or distressed all the time; Masking...I love this technique; I read that Beate likes/wants a closure of some sort to the gate cards -- I used what looks like a petal from the new on board blossoms & basics and used this a my closure device. It's soooo cool..due to using a brad, it slides/moves so you don't have to bend or try to slide the top square image under it (I used 3 layers of cardstock so it was too heavy to bend and this is what I came up with).
Also, I don't know if you can tell in the picture but all the animals POP OUT at you. I restamped the images, colored and cut out just the heads, and attached with stampin' dimensionals.
Enjoy this sweet baby card.
Alternative sentiment for card could be "Welcome to the neighborhood" or a "You're Invited".
Have a great day!
