I got this awesome new shelf with a 40% coupon at Michaels (Thanks Carn for the idea) and I plan to buy two more to hang on the wall opposite this one to display more of my treasures!
My husband and I are having a slight disagreement (again!) about whether or not I should put white polka dots on my shelf. I say yes (go figure!), he says no! My whole stamping room is black and white polka dots (it makes my husband sea-sick!) Why shouldn't I put white polka dots on it? I am posting a poll in the general forum to prove my case! Help a person out?

Well, since you're asking, I agree with MomD and Kenny. I think the classy look of the solid black is a striking contrast to the beautiful cards you want to display. Also, all of the items below your shelf have polkadots and are wonderful accents to that shelf. Now, you KNOW that I LOVE polkadots, so I did give this serious thought, because I would probably want to dot it, too, but, in this case, I would leave it solid. JMHO!

I also think you should leave the shelf black w/ no polka dots. The black shelf really does make your art work stand out. With polka dots the shelf becomes the art piece that you look at. I guess the question would be, do you want to use the shelf to highlight your artwork or do you want the shelf to be the artwork?

you could use sticky dots and try it out. If you dont like it pull them off and not harm or foul... I am thinking no dots if you are using it to display things... I think it would detract from the display. :)
