All stamps used are retired (Graduation 2002, Have a Ball 2003, Perfect Plaids 2004.)
I made this card in 2003, for a co-worker who retired.
(I usually made a copy of each card I made, before I had a good camera, so this is actually the copy that I kept.)
The retiree loves baseball, and she is a big Yankees fan. She used to bring baseball cookies to the office when the Yankees had big events, like the first game of the season, etc. Anyway, what I love about making cards is that I can personalize cards for the recipient and the occasion.
I computer generated a sentiment inside the card, and it says, "It is the bottom of the 9th... And it is time for you final Home Run. Congratuations on your Retirement! Have a Ball!" I stamped a baseball inside the card too.
When I made this card, I used two different 'Brilliant Blue' ink pads for the two blues. I had purchased a Brilliant Blue pad, and it seemed too dark to be Brilliant Blue. Later, when I bought a new one (I got the whole set of Bold Brights), it was the right color. I like the old pad for some things, like Yankee stripes, since it falls somewhere between Brilliant Blue and Night of Navy.
