I'm so glad Jami included me in her special little challenge to use one of her loved sets that will soon be retiring. She even included four stamped images in case we didn't own the set, which I don't. I used all but one, Jami - two are on the inside of the card. Maybe I cheated a little here by using one of the stamps from Circle of Friendship, but it IS about stamping! :o)
I wanted to make the full body image into a bookmark, but I also wanted to design a card to go around it. This is what I came up with. It's sort of taking elements from a Cami Tri-Fold, a Magic Card and a Pocket Card, then morphing them into a bookmark card.
I used a piece of polka dot Designer Cardstock from One Heart-One Mind, cut to 6 1/4 x 10 1/2, scored at 3.5 and 7. In the middle panel I cut out a window slightly smaller than the finished bookmark. I mounted a piece of acetate behind the window, keeping the top level with the top of the window and cutting it to a size that allowed about 1/4 inch larger on each of the other three sides. The sides and bottom were then adhered to the back of the window using 1/8 inch sticky strip. I had to cut a small slit about 1/4 inch on each side of the window top to allow for the width of the bookmark so it would slide in and out easily behind the acetate.
Then using a pencil, I lightly traced the outline of the window onto the back of the first panel and stamped a hidden message that can be seen when the bookmark is removed from the card by the recipient. You can see a little of that in the other photo.
Now to create the pocket for the bookmark! I used lots of sticky strip all around the back of the window, making sure to leave enough room for the bookmark. Then I removed the liners from the sticky strip and closed the first panel over the exposed adhesive to seal it shut. Now you have a clear window pocket in which you can see the bookmark OR the hidden message.
I made a couple of medallions for the front. On the bottom one I used a clear round epoxy sticker over the sentiment for the flower center, and for the top one I applied a thick layer of Crystal Effects over the center. I also outlined the edges of the window with the Ballet Blue marker. Finished size is 6 1/4 x 3 1/2.

Oh, Linda! I knew you'd do something fabulous with Jami's stamps! What a clever design for a bookmark card--so cute! Love the paper and all the extra details you added. The color of her dress is so pretty! The Mint is perfect for the era. Beautiful coloring, too!

This is just so fun and cute!!! Just love it all!!! I have seen some of the other things the girls have done for this challenge and I have to chuckle every time I see one as that is probably the LAST set I would ever dream of ordering, but each card has been so darn cute -- isn't that the way it goes!!! I just love your colors -- that green and blue look wonderful together -- fabulous card!!!
