There are some "firsts" on this card: First time using one of my new scallop circle punches (thanks GinaK!), first time using my cutter kit, first time using this fancy embossed cardstock I bought on clearance at my local craft store quite a while ago, and first time making this fun Cutter Kit bookmark card, inspired by flowerbugnd1: Bookmark cutter kit card by flowerbugnd1 at Splitcoaststampers Thanks, LeeAnn! :o)
I used a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock measuring 5 1/2 x 10 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and then used my perforating tool at 8 1/2 for the bookmark, which measures 2 x 5 1/2 inches. A piece of the pretty embossed cardstock is layered on.
I used the Pergamano technique on the rose image. I stamped the rose on cardstock vellum using Craft Vanilla, dried the ink using my hair dryer (my Milwaukee heat gun gets too hot for vellum), masked the rose and then stamped the leaves. On the back side I rubbed all over with wax paper and then traced all the lines with my embossing stylus (large end), taking care not to press too hard so I didn't tear through the vellum. Then I colored on the back side with my SU! markers (Blush, Moss and a little Celery) using the blender pen to remove some color for shading. To bring out the Blush color more, I xyroned the rose image onto Blush Blossom cardstock and cut it out, then mounted it on dimensionals.
The embossed ribbon is really a solid cream color, so I used my markers to color the little flowers and leaves.
This is a Mother's Day card for a good friend's elderly mother.
Paper: Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, Cardstock Vellum, Blush Blossom (xyroned underneath vellum flower), K & Co. embossed paper (Filigree by Brenda Walton)
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.

Gorgeous!! Love the softness of the pergamano rose!! The ribbon coloring trick is so cool...I actually have this ribbon, but didn't realize it was the same until I read your description! Love it!
