IC75 Inspiration challenge based on some pretty stained glass candle holders.
I was drawn to the colors, the stripes, and the translucent leaded glass.
I started with vellum cardstock (translucent) and drew silver lines (leading) on it. I was going to draw random mosaic lines, but wanted to stamp something on this card, so I chose to stamp some flowers. I masked the card so that I could stamp the flowers in just the one area. I drew more lines around the flowers to give them a bit of a stained glass effect. I used markers to color the vellum from the back side. When I was done, I wasn't sure what to do with it!
Finally, I ended up flipping it sideways and stamping a sentiment on a white card base so that it would show through a saffron stripe. (If I was to do it again, I would change the stripe order so the sentiment could be down 1 or 2 lines for better balance.) I cut a frame from mustard cardstock which holds the vellum to the card pretty well. The brads are decorative only (they don't hold any layers to the card.)
This took longer than I planned, but it was fun getting lost in a project and seeing where it would take me.
