I made this for my mom for Mother's Day. I filled it with Hershey kisses. This was my first time making a coaster box, and while everyone on here said it was soooo easy, I beg to differ. Or maybe I'm just a moron!! LOL
Anyways, my first time using ModPodge and maybe I bought the wrong kind. I bought one that is glossy, maybe matte would've worked better. Maybe it worked perfectly, and I just don't know what I'm talking about, but it seemed to stay tacky for a long time. Maybe if I had bought the coaster chipboards instead of being cheap and stealing ones from Outback it might have been easier. In the end, I feel I prevailed over this dreadful coaster box thingy and I had grown extremely attached!! But, I did give it to my mom yesterday when we met for lunch (she works on mother's day, so we got together a week early.) I love that I made this totally beautiful looking coaster box. NO one has to know how long it took, or how many curse words I uddered, or how sticky my fingers got! Well, no one, except for you guys! (insert Smile here)

Well the outcome was great no matter how rocky the path! I've been looking and looking at these wanting to make one myself - you just may have inspired me to give it a go! Very nice and I'm sure your mother was thrilled and so proud of her daughter!

Your box turned out SO nice. I'm having a problem keeping my coasters from buckling. I'm using Mode Poge as an adhesive and again as a top coating. What did you use?

You never stop topping yourself do you? This is so cute! I love it! I was jealous when I saw it but when I read what you went through to make it I was like..."Ummm, maybe I'll just have fun looking at it and not jump into trying it just yet..." With all the wedding planning I'm already a nervous wreck, I imagine this would send me over the edge! But it was worth it for your mom and it turned out beautifuly! So you can now add patience to your list of talents! You rock! Into my favorites!
