This is for today's technique challenge...to create a gift for the teacher.
My set was inspired by the wonderful card made my WAXYO seen here: Friend by WAXYO at Splitcoaststampers She is awesome!
I totally loved the simplicity of it and I thought it was just a stunning way to display a butterfly. Plus, I have a lot of teachers to make gifts for so I thought simplistic and beautiful was the way to go!
So i used her idea of a simplistic layout with a butterfly.
I created the card by using ww cs and folding it from the top. I decided to use orange and yellow for my main colors so I could use my mustard ribbon. The butterfly is stamped and then stamped again on scrap...both are colored but the scrap one is cut out and I added crystal effects and clear glitter to it before putting it on with pop dots.
The note pad is a small legal pad cut lengthwise. It has a magnet on the back so you can use in on a refridgerator if you wanted to. The top is covered in ww cs and I ran a ribbon across it before adhering it to the pad. The butterfly is added to the top.
The note cube has the butterflies on three sides. For the cube, I actually did the same technique for the butterflies but I did put glitter on the bottom butterfly too so that as the cube is used, the top butterfly can be taken off and the bottom butterfly still looks good. I tied the clear box with a tulle bow.
The bag is created the same way. Found the bag at the $1 store and I took the handles off so I could put the mustard ribbon through.
The bag will be filled with hershey's kisses and a gift card to Barnes and Noble.
Thanks for helping me get these started!!!
Thanks for looking
