I knew that would draw you in....just the mere mention of margaritas and you guys are all over it, aren't you????!!! That's ok, me too!
I made this card for my SIL's 50th birthday, which is this coming Saturday. They are having a fiesta at their house to celebrate with their closest friends (like 40-50 of their closest friends! Lots of yummy food, and great drinks.
I knew I wanted to feature a margarita glass front and center, so I put my thinking cap on and wondered how I could make it happen.
I decided to make the margarita glass with acetate! I went online and found a REAL margarita glass that I liked, printed it out, and then used it as my template for the glass. I used a few pieces of foam tape to adhere it to the acetate so it wouldn't move much while I was cutting it out. Once I got done doing that, I turned it over to the rough side and put my Twinkling H2O paints to work creating the "margarita" inside the glass!!!! To add a little sparkle, I sprinkled fine glitter on the paint while it was still wet. The margarita "liquid" is painted with Key Lime H2O paint, and the stem of the glass is painted with Sky Blue H2O's. The salt around the glass rim is glitter applied to the glass using my Tsukineko Glue Pad.
