Making a set of cards as a gift donation for the local primary school's Mother's Day stall fundraiser. (This particular one will stay in my sample folder though after dropping my inkpad onto it...ggrrrr.)
I used my daughter's coloured pencils (cheap) and baby oil and blending stump to colour image, and I made a template for the paper piercing from card and the SU grid paper as a guide.

All I did was to add colour to the outline of the image with the pencils, dip the stump into the baby oil and then using small circular movements pulled the colour from the outline into the image. You can then introduce shading by applying heavier colour and blending with the stump again.
I saw this technique demonstrated on GinaK's video tutorial using Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits, but haven't been able to find the pencils here in Australia. I saw a Valentines card by Keri Sereika where she used baby oil to blend instead of OMS so I thought I'd give it a try - I'm pretty happy with the result.
Thanks for asking.
