Michelle Giraud from Twisted Chick Creations (BTW - visit her site if you haven't before. Michelle is amazingly creative!) posted a challange about finding inspiration in catalogs. Just a few days ago I received a Hallmark catalog in the mail and I was amazed at all of the items I found inside that were wonderful inspirations for cards. When I saw Michelle's post I realized this was the perfect time for me to get busy on those cards! Here's my first, of what I imagine will be multiple posts based on items from this catalog.
This was a very simple card to create (who would have thought that Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion and More Mustard would go together but I love it!) and I thought after it was finished that this would be a fun and easy birthday card. I used the circle image from the Papertreyink "Butterfly Kisses" kit. I then stamped the Celebrate sentiment on vellum and mounted it, using silver eyelets, to a piece of More Mustard cardstock. The eyelets are meant to emulate the brads on the purse handles. I suppose brads would have worked for my card too...I just don't have any silver brads... ;-) I wish I didn't get that glare on the vellum as it makes the words kind of hard to see in the photo. Someone needs to give me some photo taking tips for my cards!! LOL!
