I love the layout of this card, however it is seriously lacking in sparkles (aka happiness in a bottle) - This card looks to dreary to be anything but a sympathy card...even then I think it is too 'dark' for that. I would appreciate any suggestions (I'm also trying to keep it black, white and grey's - and it's supposed to be a "Thinking of you" card)

I love it. Rather than somber it's more elegant. I think when keeping with a black and white theme, embossing crystal clear over black (in the form of a background stamp maybe) creates a little shine or dimention (in place of the black dry embossed cardstock), to make up for the lack of sparkle. You could emboss the tree in black as well. The dimention might just kick it up a knotch without taking away from the seriousness of it. I really like the card the way it is... but thought I would add my opinion on alternatives to glitter when trying to make things sparkle.

I really like this. If you wanted to "lighten" it a bit, maybe adding some white organdy ribbon along with the black that you've used. But I agree with Kerri that it has an elegant look.

I'm with everyone else -- it's fine the way it is! Your layout and embellishments make it far from ordinary or drab. You could add some glitter in the tree or on the grass, but it's not necessary. How did you make the little tabs that are holding the white cardstock?

Yes, this is very elegant. Maybe you could rub some pearly pearl-ex over the raised part of your embossed background to bring some sparkle to it? I also agree w/ the PP, some white organdy ribbon could work nicely as well. Nice card the way it is though!
