This one was created for Inspiration Challenge 71 (based on this underwear ad Forums at Splitcoaststampers, and it about did me in! It was one of those that I had the idea in my mind, but it took about three tries before I could pull the execution together. Fortunately, I had the time to do so. kmallett78 and her fam were over, so the boys -- young and old -- we're occupied and we were able to play. I really don't think the fact that we were drinking margaritas while stamping has anything to do with how long this card took to make...
First I embossed the 'butterflies' onto Very Vanilla. I cut out the interiors and left about half a cm of a border on the outside. I then cut two sets 1" x 1.5" rectangles from the four different sheets of patterned paper from a Basic Grey 6"x6" Gypsy pad. I glued the dp rectangles into groups of four so that the corners would intersect in the middle, making sort of a mini-quilt. The embossed outlines were then glued on top of the mini-quilts, and then trimmed out to create a finished butterfly. Whew! After the butterflies were mounted on the Brocade Blue layer, I embossed their antenna, but since the EP I was using wasn't opaque, they came out looking kind of clear.
