A few weeks ago I created some background paper using SU!'s Mixed Bouquet for a swap. When triming the paper to fit my card design I ended up with all these 1/2" strips of left over paper. They all looked so pretty sitting in a pile on my desk, I knew I had to keep them for something. When I was holding them in my hand a few nights ago thinking about what to do with them I came up with the idea of weaving them together, like one of those loop pot holders we all made when we were little. (Am I aging myself here??) I added a background stamp to my card front. Since the weaving added dimension to the card I felt a cut out flower would work on the front and it did...kind of...but it was still missing something. Enter one of the butterflies from the fabulous PAPERTREYink Butterfly Kisses set. A little chipboard for my sentiment and ribbon and I was...oooppss...not quite done yet. My flower looked kind of drab and it was already attached to my card so what was I going to do?? I used my VersaMark marker and traced over the inside lines of the flower and added some clear embossing powder. It really added that little bit of bling to the card. Oh yeah, and I sponged the edges of everything because that seems to be my "thing" lately!
